The TC Blau-Weiss Halle eV is a pure tennis club in Halle , Westphalia . The men's team in the tennis Bundesliga and the other teams in the club play their home games on its ten outdoor courts .
history
The TC Blau-Weiss Halle has developed since 1957 under the leadership of Gerhard (Gerry) Weber into one of the best-known and best-performing clubs in East Westphalia. With over 500 members, the TC BW Halle is also one of the clubs with the largest number of members and one of the most popular in the 1st Bundesliga . The Gerry Weber Open , which are held in the neighboring Gerry Weber Sportpark and the Gerry Weber Stadium , have been one of the most famous German world ranking tournaments for years. The tournament is one of two on the ATP World Tour in Germany that will be played on grass.
In 2018 the club withdrew from the 1st Bundesliga to the regional league for financial reasons.
Sporting successes
The TC Blau Weiss Halle eV has been playing again since 2004 (before 1994–1999) in the top German league, the 1st Bundesliga . With a total of 16 years in the German upper house, the club is one of the most successful clubs in Germany. In 1995, 2006, 2014, 2015 and 2017 he won the title of German team champion.
