history

The story is closely related to the Ferrari school , which is housed in the Palais Ferrari in Innsbruck. In 1972 the school decided to include volleyball in its sports program and the pupils could train for this sport. In the following year, 1975, the club became Tyrolean champions and was promoted to the second division in Austria, in which the amateur club was mostly able to place in the midfield until 1982. From 1982 the school team played in the Tyrolean league until 1985 when they were promoted to the second division again. There she stayed again for three years with very different successes until she was relegated back to the Tyrolean League in 1990. In the 1994/95 season the school club played again in the 2nd league, in 1995/96 TI-volley hired the Italian coach Robert Spath , who introduced more professional training methods to the school club and took 3rd place in the 2nd league in the final table Season later, the volleyball club celebrated promotion to the 1st Bundesliga.

In the first Bundesliga season 1997/98 the club took 3rd place and qualified for the CEV Challenge Cup 1998/99. In the 1998/99 season there was a change of coach: Marco Angelini , a coach who was active in the highest Italian volleyball league A1, joined the club. With three defeats she said goodbye to the qualification tournament. The club reached 2nd place in the Austrian championship and the final in the cup. In the 1999/2000 season with Tiroler Sparkasse as sponsor in the CEV Cup, the Tyrolean women placed 7th, in the championship they became runner-up, in the cup they reached the final. Tiroler Wasserkraft was presented as a new sponsor in 2001/02. In the CEV Top Team Cup 2000/01, the club took 2nd place behind KFUM Örebro from Sweden. 2001/02 in the Top Team Cup to Jedinstvo Uzice (Odensee) failed in the 2nd qualifying round, fourth in the championship. In the 2002/03 CEV Cup tournament in Izmir, the club there missed the main round with a 2nd place, in the championship the Tyrolean women took 5th place, in the cup finalist. In the 2003/04 CEV Cup in the Innsbruck tournament, the club took 3rd place behind the Swiss Concordia BTV Luzern and the Dutch Sliedrecht Sport, and 4th in the championship.
