The Two inch Equivalent (German: two- inch equivalent) is a measure of the surface , unit characters : TIE ( formula mark the surface: A ) and corresponds to the area of a circle having a diameter of two inches.

It is a seldom used unit of measurement, but it is used in semiconductor technology , especially when it comes to specifying the surface area of ​​circular wafers made of substrate material for LEDs .
