Red Clark
Joseph "Red" Clark (born February 12, 1894 in New Orleans ; † November 30, 1960 ibid) was an American jazz musician ( trombone , tuba , sousaphone ).
Clark's father Warren Aaron Clark played the baritone horn in the Excelsior and Onward Brass Band in the late 19th century ; Red himself first played the baritone horn and trombone. He had lessons from his father and Dave Perkins. In 1928 he became a member of the Tonic Triad and played in the Masonic Brass Band in the 1930s . He was then a long-time member (and manager) of the Eureka Brass Band , with which he recorded in 1951. Clark participated in seven recording sessions between 1946 and 1958.
