The hockey department was founded in 1971 and initially consisted of only one men's team. After a few years youth teams could be formed and in the mid-1980s a women's team was established. In 1993 the men's team rose to the highest Czech league and only finished in the back of the table in the following years. Since the mid-1990s, youth work has been intensified, which has led to the men's team catching up to the national top since 2004. Two runner-up titles, a third place and in 2010 the Czech championship title for the first time came out of it. 2008 Litice qualified for the first time for the European Cup competitions. In the third-rate Euro Hockey Challenge, the team remained without a win in 2008. At the same tournament in Vienna in 2009 the club reached fifth place. At the second-rate Euro Hockey Trophy 2011 in Rome, Litice came in last as eighth placed team, so that the Czech champions are only allowed to start in the third-rate challenge in the 2011/2012 season.
