József Czukor
József Czukor (born January 28, 1958 ) is a Hungarian diplomat .
Life
After studying law in Budapest and completing his doctorate, Czukor became an administrative clerk in the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior. After the political change in Hungary he became a diplomat. He initially headed the political department at the Hungarian embassy in Bonn in 1992 and 1993 and between 1997 and 2002, when the government moved to Berlin, he had the rank of envoy. Between 2002 and 2004 he was director of the Információs Hivatal (intelligence service) in Budapest . Under the Ferenc Gyurcsány government he was ambassador to Slovenia .
After the change of government in Hungary to the Viktor Orbán government in 2010, he replaced Ambassador Sándor Peisch in Berlin , where he was ambassador until 2015. During his time as ambassador to Germany, Józef Czukor was a member of the international award committee of the Adalbert Foundation .
Since October 1, 2018, he has been General Director of Információs Hivatal.
