TL 9000

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TL 9000 (Telecom Leadership 9000) is a quality standard for telecommunications for providers of telecommunications equipment and services. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard, but supplements it with further telecom-specific requirements. The TL 9000 standard is developed and administered by the QuEST forum ( Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunication ), which was founded by the University of Texas in Dallas . Many leading telecommunications equipment manufacturers and service providers belong to it.

The TL 9000 is divided into two manuals: The Requirements Handbook describes (process) requirements, the associated metrics (for the systematic measurement of quality performance) are defined in the Measurements Handbook .

On June 30, 2006, Version 4.0 of the “Requirements Handbook” came into force. On November 15, 2009, Version 5.0 of the “Requirements Handbook” came into force. Version 6.0 of the “Requirements Handbook” was launched on September 15, 2016. In the TL 9000: 2016 (R6) standard, the changes to the changed ISO 9001: 2015 are taken into account.

Version 4.0 of the “Measurements Handbook” became effective on December 31, 2006. Version 5.5 will be replaced by 5.6 on June 30, 2019.
