TNF receptor-associated periodic fever syndrome

TNF receptor-associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS) is the name of an autoimmune disease characterized by recurrent fever , wandering myalgias, and skin redness . The patients have a hereditary reduction in the TNF receptor type 1 . Diagnosis is based on a genetic test. Glucocorticoids , etanercept , anakinra and canakinumab are used for treatment .
