TOPSIS

TOPSIS ( T echnique for O rder P reference by S imilarity to I deal S olution) is a technique for the solution of decision problems and efficiency analysis from the area of operations research ( Operations Research ). The aim of this technique is to determine the relative advantages of alternatives. A situation where TOPSIS e.g. B. can be applied is the purchase of a car.

General description of TOPSIS

TOPSIS was developed by C.-L. Hwang and K. Yoon developed. The advantageousness of an alternative is assessed by determining the distance to the best alternative and the distance to the worst alternative. With these distances, a value is calculated for each alternative that provides information about the advantages of this alternative.
