TRT Turizm Radyosu
TRT Turizm Radyosu ( German TRT tourism radio ) was a Turkish radio broadcaster founded in 1990 by the public broadcasting company Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT). From 2002 until he was hired in 2009, Turizm Radyosu broadcast 24 hours a day in multiple languages.
program
With the radio station, the TRT responded to the increasing number of foreign guests due to mass tourism. The aim was to offer holiday guests during their stay in Turkey a radio program in the native languages of their countries of origin or in the international lingua franca, English. In the 1990s, the West European languages German, French and English were broadcast. Later programs in Greek and Russian were added.
At the top of the hour, the tourist wave brought news from all over the world and Turkey in English, French, German and Russian. The programs following the news in magazine format (articles and music) contained thematic focuses on culture in Turkey as well as travel and excursion tips, important telephone numbers, weather information, information on concerts, market and exhibition dates in the holiday regions and the exchange rates of the lira. Usually a German- an English-language broadcasting hour followed and so on. In the evening, the station often brought live music.
The music selection was shaped by international hits, evergreens and pop. From time to time Turkish musicians were also introduced.
Studios
The station was based in the TRT studios in Antalya . Messages and verbal contributions came from the TRT headquarters in Ankara , where they were produced by the foreign language editors of TRT-Türkiye-'nin-Sesi (TRT-Voice of Turkey), as the foreign-language employees were on site here.
reception
The program of TRT-Turizm Radyosu could be received via VHF until it was discontinued in the tourist-frequented areas of Turkey ( Province of Antalya , Province of İzmir , İstanbul and Pamukkale ).
attitude
The station was not well known among tourists, however. Few travel guides mentioned the station. With the expansion of the TRT's domestic programs to include certain special-interest programs, frequencies were required, so that the station was finally discontinued in early 2009.
