history

The club was founded in 1875 as the fifth gymnastics club in the Odenwald district. The members Pabst, Pilger and Weitzel played a decisive role in founding the association. On June 1, 1928, the gymnastics club was entered in the register of associations at the Höchst District Court. After the dissolution of many clubs in the course of the Second World War , the sporting departments of the culture and sports association (KSV) Höchst, which had been founded in the meantime, agreed to found a gymnastics and sports club. At the founding meeting on January 25, 1949, a modern statute was approved and the association was entered in the register of associations under the current name TSV 1875 Höchst / Odenwald eV. With this decision, the two clubs Turnverein Höchst and the Sports Club 1920 Höchst had merged.

The current chairman of the entire association is Horst Bitsch, represented by the second chairman Horst Stellwag (as of October 2014).

Successes of the departments

The soccer department of TSV Höchst celebrated the greatest success in the department's history by winning the regional cup of the Darmstadt soccer region in 2010. As a result, TSV Höchst was the only regional top division team to participate in the 2011 Hessen Cup of the Hessian Football Association (HFV) .

The table tennis department, on the other hand, is known as a successful regional club and talent factory, which above all produced the multiple table tennis European champion and Olympic silver medalist (with the team, Beijing 2008) Timo Boll (March 2011: world number 1 ). The Bundesliga player Patrick Franziska also comes from the youth of TSV Höchst. The first men's team of TSV Höchst plays in the 2016/2017 season in the regional league Gr. 2, the first women's team in the major league.

On May 28, 2017, the 1st men's team won the German cup championships for association classes. Previously, they qualified for this with victories in the district and Hesse Cup.

This makes TSV Höchst the first club from the Odenwaldkreis to win this title.
