The TSV Kaldenkirchen (officially: Gymnastics and Game Association Kaldenkirchen 1885/07 eV ) is a sports club from the Nettetaler district Kaldenkirchen in Viersen . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

In 1885, the Kaldenkirchen gymnastics club was the origin of today's TSV. In 1907 the associations Germania Kaldenkirchen and Constantia Kaldenkirchen merged . The fusion club, whose name is unknown, called itself from 1916 Spielverein Kaldenkirchen . On December 5, 1945, the gymnastics club merged with the game club to form today's gymnastics and game club Kaldenkirchen .

In terms of sport, the footballers of the game club reached the then first-class Rheinische Westkreisliga in 1920 , but missed qualification for the single-track Rheingauliga in the following season . In 1930 the team was promoted to the first-class Niederrhein district league , where the Kaldenkirchen team could hold out for three years. In the 1932/33 season it was only enough for last place and the game at group winners Duisburg FV 08 was lost 2:14. Then it went on at the district level.

After the end of the war, the now TSV played in the district class. There the team was runner-up behind Hülser FC in 1950 , before the Kaldenkirchen-based team won the championship four years later and rose to the state league, the highest amateur league at the time on the Lower Rhine. As the penultimate, it went back down to the district class after only one year, where in 1956 the direct promotion was achieved. With the simultaneous introduction of the Lower Rhine Association League, the TSV remained in the second highest amateur league.

The TSV established itself in the state league and came in the 1956/57 season to a 9-0 over Alemannia Pfalzdorf . In 1962, the Kaldenkirchen runners-up behind SV Hamborn 1890 , before the team fell back into mediocrity and in 1967 relegated to the district class. The club did not get beyond the lower divisions and has been playing in the district league A since relegation in 2013.
