The TSV Bleidenstadt (full name: gymnastics and sports club (TSV) Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt eV ) is a in the March 24, 1901 Bleidenstadt established Hessian sports club from the city of Taunusstein , who is best known for its football department. The football club TSV Bleidenstadt is a member of the Hessian Football Association (HFV).

history

During the First World War , the Bleidenstadt gymnastics club was dissolved and re-established in 1919. In 1929 a separate gym was built, but it was expropriated after the National Socialists came to power. The club was also dissolved during the Second World War and re-established in 1946 as the Bleidenstadt gymnastics and sports club . A sports field was built for the club between 1946 and 1948. The peak of the club was reached in the 1970s, when they became the first Untertaunus club to rise to the Landesliga Hessen-Mitte and played there from 1973 to 1980. During this successful period you could win the district cup 10 times in a row. Bleidenstadt was twice in the main round of the DFB Cup : in 1974/75 they were in the third round after victories over FC Rodalben and FC Homburg , but missed the second round due to a 2: 4 defeat against SC Jülich . 1977/78 eliminated the team in the first main round of the second division club SG Wattenscheid 09 with 2: 1 after extra time; in the 2nd round they failed at Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 with 1: 8. With the exception of the games against FC Homburg, all cup games were played away from home.

The TSV Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt club as a whole has almost 2000 members in six independent departments. The TSV gymnastics gymnasts, who have won several world and European championships as well as numerous German championships, are very successful. The highlight was hosting the World Gymnastics Championships in 1991. The volleyball department, which is known for its good youth work, is also successful.

The club has an artificial turf pitch, a small artificial turf pitch and two large sports halls.

Men's

The first men's team currently plays in the eight-class regional league Rheingau-Taunus. The second men's team plays in the district league B.
