The football club eV FC Rodalben 1906 is a football club from the small town of Rodalben in Rhineland-Palatinate .

history

The association was founded in 1906 in the former Ferdinand Bendel brewery. In 1912 he got his own sports field, which was located on Zweibrücker Straße. During the Second World War , the club was able to maintain its gaming operations until 1941. Due to a military decree, the club had to be combined with all other sports clubs to form a gaming community, which meant that it could only operate independently again after the Second World War.

In 1961, FC Rodalben rose to the 1st Amateur League Southwest, which is considered the greatest success in the club's history. A few years later, however, the club got into a crisis. Since a player had not had the right to play, the club at the end of the season 1965/66 points were deducted, which he had to relegate . 1969 succeeded in rising again.

As a climber, you immediately established yourself again in the top group of the amateur league. In the 1971/72 season , FC Rodalben was runner-up and qualified for the 1972 German amateur football championship . In 1974 he won the Southwest Cup , which qualified him for the 1974/75 DFB Cup . There he was already defeated in the first round by TSV Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt , who also played in the amateur field, 1: 2 after extra time.

In the following years, the club was passed into lower amateur classes, so that he last played in the district league Pirmasens / Zweibrücken. In the 2010/11 season, FC Rodalben made it to the West Palatinate district class as champions.

For the 2015/16 season, FC Rodalben announced its active men's team from play.

In the 2016/17 season, FC Rodalben registered a new 1st team in the C-Class East under new leadership, in which they achieved the championship and thus promotion to the B-Class after a dominant round. The FC set itself the goal of reaching the A-Class in the next few years. Youth work has also experienced a strong boom in recent years. Some of the young people were filled with play pools. Almost 200 boys and girls form the heart of the club in the youth group.
