Table tennis

A table tennis department was founded in 1962 on the initiative of Friedel Haas. Initially only men's teams and young people were active, but a women's team was formed in 1964.

The women's team, consisting of Renate Neubäumer, Ute Schulz, Birgit Burkhardt and Denise Jochem, rose to the 1st Bundesliga in 1980 . Despite reinforcement by the English national player Carole Knight , she finished last in the 1980/81 season and had to relegate. In 1986 the team around Ute Seemann, Cornelia Reckziegel, Annegret Groebel and Ilona Grünberg succeeded in getting up again. However, the class could not be held this time either. As a result, the women's team was no longer represented in the national leagues.

Today (2015) there is no longer a women's team at TV Bieber.
