sports

Around 150 of the members actively play fistball. In addition to fistball, there are also around 80 women at TV Brettorf, who are divided into three gymnastics groups. The club also has three children's gymnastics groups. The Prellballers have also been active in their own department for decades . Some members practice athletics (running).

Fistball

Fistball is at the center of club life. Fistball was already being played in Brettorf in the 1920s, but the foundation for later successes was not laid until the department was rebuilt in the early 1970s. At the end of the seventies, the first title wins at state level and participation in German championships, and just a few years later the TVB won the first DM titles in the student area. To date, the club has won 26 German championships - 22 of them at junior level. The club was first represented in the men's Bundesliga (Halle) in the mid-1980s, but after relegation in 1986 it took almost ten years to build a new Bundesliga-ready team. This has established itself in the German top and became German champions in the men's field in 2003 (hall) and 2004 (field). The women played in the Bundesliga several times in the 1990s, but were relegated just as often. The young team is currently working its way back to the 1st Bundesliga. In the field season 2016, the relegation could even be celebrated for the first time in the club's history.

Behind the top teams there are eight more men's and five women's teams. Together with the youth and senior teams, who do not play in a league, but in championship mode, TV Brettorf brings it to over 30 teams season after season and is therefore certainly one of the largest fistball clubs in Germany.

At the moment there is also a national player in the ranks of the Brettorf men. Christian Kläner reached 3rd place with the German national fistball team at the world championships in his own country. At the 2011 world championships in Austria, he won against the hosts in the final 4: 2 and became world champion.

In addition to the numerous DM participations, the Brettorf team also hosted the German championship for men and women in 2004 on the field and in September 2010 the German championship for women and men under 14.

The flagship of the Brettorf fistball department is the first men's team. Since 1984 the TVB has played almost continuously in the first fistball league, with only a few exceptions. The team managed to qualify for a German championship 20 times.
