The Muttenz gymnastics club is a large club with around 1400 members. Popular sport is at the center of activities .
history
1878 was the founding year of the gymnastics club. The women's team was founded in 1923, the women's team in 1936, and in 1989 they merged to form the entire club. The entire association celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2003 in St. Jakob-Park .
The history of the athletics department in particular was examined more closely as part of the 25th anniversary, summarized in book form and presented at the anniversary celebration in April 2016.
Departments
The gymnastics club offers a wide range of sports. These are gymnastics , athletics , basketball , handball , floorball and volleyball . These sports are grouped into seven departments, which appear independently in many areas:
- Gymnastics (approx. 390 members; fitness Friday, Friday squads, Wednesday squads and senior squads, youth squads, apparatus gymnastics, Move'n'Dance and preschool age SVKT)
- Gymnasts (approx. 160 members; gymnastics 70+, women Monday, aerofit, senior women Wednesday, TurnXund, GymFit women and aerobics)
- Athletics (approx. 170 members; training groups: special training sprint / hurdles, medium and long distances, all-around, sprint / hurdles, fitness, U14, U12 and U10)
- Basketball (approx. 140 members; teams: men 3rd and 5th division, juniors U20 and U15, women 3rd division, juniors U20 and U17 / 15, U13, U11 and U9)
- Handball (approx. 180 members; teams: men 1 & 2 3rd division, juniors U19, U17, U15, U13, U11, U9 and seniors)
- Floorball (approx. 50 members; teams: men 4th division GF, juniors C and D)
- Volleyball (approx. 220 members; teams: women 3rd & 4th league, EasyLeague, men 3rd league, seniors, juniors U23, U19, U17, U15, girls and boys U13 and kids volley)
Regular events
- Weekly training, participation in gymnastics festivals and other sporting events in the other departments.
- Egg reading set , jazz on the square, autumn run and various other events that are listed in the annual program.
- The general assembly takes place annually in September. Each department also holds its own department meeting in May or June.
Club magazine
In form , the club magazine of TV Muttenz, appears 4 times a year and is sent to interested members by post, but is also available online in a PDF version via the homepage. The magazine contains reports from the various departments and informs the members, etc. a. about past and future events of the entire association.
