Tacere ( lat. Tacere "silent") is a Finnish symphonic metal band with female and male vocals.

Career

Tacere began as a solo project Tacet Lacrimae by Karri Knuuttila. It quickly became clear that he would need an entire band to realize his visions. Towards the end of 2002 the first official line-up was set up and at the same time the band name was shortened to "Tacere". They recorded their first demo called Into your dreams . In 2004 Helena Haaparanta joined the band as a singer. She had already sung The Legend of Gévaudan as a guest singer on the demo .

After three years of hard work, Tacere signed their first record deal with SM Records at the end of 2005 . So in May 2006 the first single called I Devour was released. A year later, the mini album A Voice in the Dark followed in November 2006, which reached number 9 in the Finnish single charts. In January, she made her first music video for the song Deep Tears of Tragedy . The debut album Beautiful Darkness followed in February 2007 .

Singer Helena Haaparanta left the band in April 2008 for personal reasons. In December, a replacement was finally found for Taiya R. In addition, a keyboardist was recorded with Veli-Matti Kananen. In February 2009, the recording of the second album began.
