Tadas Papečkys (born September 28, 1978 in Marijampolė ) is a former Lithuanian football player .

Career

Papečkys began his career at FBK Kaunas . In its debut season, the club was fifth in the league. After the third place in 1998/99 he switched to VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius on loan in 1999 , with whom he reached second place in the final table, behind his regular club Kaunas. He then returned and became Lithuanian champions in 2000 and 2001, and also cup winners in 2001. In 2002 he was awarded to Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia , which he left after a competitive game. He stayed with Kaunas until 2005, where two more championship titles and a cup victory followed. In 2006 he moved to FK Šilutė, with whom he reached ninth place in Lithuania.

In 2007 Papečkys went abroad again and signed with FK Riga in Latvia . He stayed only six months before he moved to Poland to join Górnik Zabrze . He then played for Łódzki KS and in autumn 2009 again for Górnik (2nd team). The Lithuanian has been under contract with JK Kalev Sillamäe in Estonia since January 2010 . After three more positions in his native Lithuania , he ended his active career there in 2017.

Internationally, he played a total of seven times for Lithuania, making his debut in 2005.
