The Tajik National University ( Tajik Донишгоҳи миллии Тоҷикистон Donischgohi millii Todschikiston , Russian Таджикский национальный университет Tadschikski Nazionalnyj Uniwersitet ) is the largest university in the Central Asian country of Tajikistan and is located in the capital Dushanbe .

history

It was founded on March 21, 1947, when Tajikistan was still part of the Soviet Union , by resolution of the Soviet Council of Ministers and was named after Lenin at the time . Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the independence of Tajikistan in 1991, the university has been renamed several times and is now called the Tajik National University.
