Taexali

Celtic tribes in Scotland

The Taexali or Taezali were a Celtic tribe in the north of Scotland, which is only known from Ptolemy's Geographia . From their general description and the approximate location of their city, which Ptolemy calls "Devana" , it can be concluded that they lived on the northeast coast of Scotland . Buchan was also part of their territory , as Ptolemy referred to the cape as the "Texal Cape" .
