Inventor Day
The Inventors' Day is celebrated in different countries on different days. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland November 9th , the birthday of the inventor and Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr , is the day of inventors.
According to the internet presentation, the organizers are pursuing the following goals with the Inventors Day:
- Courage to own ideas and to change
- Remembering forgotten inventors
- Remembering great inventors who made our lives better
- Improve the reputation of contemporary inventors and visionaries
- Call for participation in our future
The Inventors Day is an initiative by Gerhard Muthenthaler , a Berlin entrepreneur and inventor.
International inventor days
The National Inventors' Day was in the United States by President Ronald Reagan by proclamation on 11. February 1983 on the occasion of the birthday of Thomas Alva Edison , the most successful in number of patents American inventor proclaimed all time.
In Argentina , September 29th , the birthday of the ballpoint pen inventor László József Bíró , has been celebrated as Inventors Day since 1986 .
