Day of the protection of species
The day of the protection of species ( UN World Wildlife Day ) is a day of action and remembrance introduced within the framework of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES ). It takes place annually on March 3rd : the agreement signed on March 3rd, 1973 aims to protect endangered wild species (animals and plants) that are endangered by trade interests.
