Tai'erzhuang
The district of Tai'erzhuang ( 台儿庄 区 , Tái'érzhuāng Qū ) belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Zaozhuang in the south of Shandong Province , People's Republic of China . It has an area of 538 km² and has 290,000 inhabitants.
During the so-called Second Sino-Japanese War , the battle for Tai'erzhuang between armies of the Chinese Kuomintang and Japan took place here in 1938 .
The former site of the Battle of Tai'erzhuang ( Chinese 台儿庄 大战 旧址 , Pinyin Tai'erzhuang dazhan jiuzhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-981) since 2006 .
