Zaozhuang
Zaozhuang ( Chinese 棗莊 市 / 枣庄 市 ) is a district-free city in the south of the Chinese province of Shandong . There is Mandarin spoken. The city, which borders Jiangsu Province to the south , has large coal reserves. The philosopher Xunzi is buried in Zaozhuang.
The administrative area of Zaozhuang has an area of 4,550 km² and a population of 3.92 million (end of 2016). 980,893 people live in the actual urban settlement area of Zaozhuang (2010 census).
Administrative structure
At the county level, Zaozhuang consists of five municipal districts and one urban district . These are:
- Shizhong district (市 中 区 = "city center"), 375 km², 490,000 inhabitants, center, seat of the city government;
- Xuecheng District (薛城区), 507 km², 470,000 inhabitants;
- Yicheng District (峄 城区), 627 km², 360,000 inhabitants;
- Tai'erzhuang District (台儿庄 区), 538 km², 290,000 inhabitants;
- District Shanting (山亭区), 1,018 km², 470,000 inhabitants;
- Tengzhou City (滕州 市), 1,485 km², 1.57 million inhabitants.
