Zaozhuang ( Chinese  棗莊 市  /  枣庄 市 ) is a district-free city in the south of the Chinese province of Shandong . There is Mandarin spoken. The city, which borders Jiangsu Province to the south , has large coal reserves. The philosopher Xunzi is buried in Zaozhuang.

The administrative area of ​​Zaozhuang has an area of ​​4,550 km² and a population of 3.92 million (end of 2016). 980,893 people live in the actual urban settlement area of ​​Zaozhuang (2010 census).

Administrative structure

At the county level, Zaozhuang consists of five municipal districts and one urban district . These are:
