Liaocheng

Liaocheng ( Chinese  聊城 , Pinyin Liáochéng ) is a district-free city in the west of the Chinese province of Shandong . It borders in the southeast on the provincial capital Jinan , in the northeast on Dezhou , in the south on Tai'an and in the west on the provinces Hebei and Henan . The Great Canal runs through the center of the city. Liaocheng has an area of ​​8,715 km² and about 6.04 million inhabitants (2016). 606,366 people live in the actual urban settlement area (2010 census).
