Taihe Gong Jindian

The Taihe Gong Jindian ( Chinese  太和 宫 金殿 , Pinyin Tàihé Gōng Jīndiàn ), also Taihegong bronze hall or Tongwa temple ( 铜 瓦 寺 , Tóngwǎ sì  - "bronze brick temple"), is located on the Mingfeng Shan mountain (鸣凤山) road neighborhood Qingyun of the district Panlong the city of Kunming in the province Yunnan of China .

The Taoist temple was originally built in 1602 during the Ming Dynasty under the provincial governor Chen Yongbin (陈 用 宾).

The current "Golden Temple" ( Jindian ) was built by Wu Sangui吴三桂 in 1671 of the Qing Dynasty . It is 6.2 meters wide and 6.7 m high and represents the largest bronze hall in China. It was made from approx. 200 tons of bronze.

The hall shines like gold in the sunlight, which is what gave the temple its name. Besides the marble stairs and balustrades, walls, columns, roof tiles, altars, Buddha statues, wall decorations and the banners near the gate tower are made of bronze.

The temple has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Yunnan (2-38) since 1982 .
