Takako Tate

Takako Tate ( Japanese タ テ タ カ コ , Tate Takako ; born July 24, 1978 in Iida , Nagano Prefecture ) is a Japanese singer-songwriter , composer and pianist .

Her songs are characterized by the dominance of the piano and an individual singing voice. Electronic sounds, everyday noises or other instruments are often cautiously integrated into the compositions. Clear and catchy melodies are an essential characteristic of Takako Tate's songs.

Short biography

Takako Tate was born in 1978 in Iida , Nagano Prefecture . She graduated from the Kunitachi Music Academy in Tachikawa (near Tokyo ).

In 2004 she took on the supporting role of a mini-market clerk in the highly acclaimed film Nobody Knows by director Hirokazu Koreeda . For this film, Takako Tate contributed the song Hōseki ( 宝石 ), which is also included on her first album Sora .
