Takamaka (Seychelles)
Takamaka is the southeastern administrative district on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles .
geography
The district extends over the southeast tip of the island of Mahé. It borders the northern districts of Baie Lazare (W) and Anse Royale (O)
With the bays Anse Intendance , Anse Bazarca Beach , Police Bay and Pointe Police , the district has some beaches that are worth seeing. In contrast to the beaches, the small towns of Anse Forbans Neighborhood and Quatre Bornes are more in the center or on the north side of the island, at the foot of the numerous mountains. The north coast is divided by the bays Anse Baleine , Anse Forbans , Anse Marie-Louise and Anse Capucins ; the Pointe du Sud is the most south-eastern point of the island.
The district has ISO 3166-2 code SC-23.
economy
The main occupations in the district are agriculture and fishing. There is now a small tourism division with four small hotels (Allamanda Hotel, Captain's Villa, Chez Batista, Banyan Tree Resort - Anse Intendance).
As in all districts, there is a primary school, health center, police station, and district administration office , all of which are located around the Catholic Church of Ste Mary Magdalena .
