Takashi Kokubo
Takashi Kokubo (* 1956 in Tokyo , Japan) is a Japanese musician and sound environment designer and a representative of the Kankyō-Ongaku movement, to which Hiroshi Yoshimura also belonged. He mainly publishes electronic ambient music and beep follow.
He has collaborated with many other famous musicians, including Ryuichi Sakamoto .
His best-known works include the earthquake warning tone on Japanese cell phones and the confirmation tone for credit card payments.
The compilation "Kankyo Ongaku - Japanese Ambient, Environmental & New Age Music 1980–1990", which also contains a work by Takashi Kokubo, was nominated for a 2020 Grammy Award.
