Lisa Hefendehl-Hebeker

Lisa Hefendehl-Hebeker (born April 9, 1948 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German mathematician and university professor . She was a professor of mathematics with a focus on didactics at the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Life and research

Hefendehl-Hebeker studied mathematics and Protestant theology from 1967 to 1973 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . In 1973 she passed the first and in 1979 the second state examination for teaching at grammar schools. From 1973 to 1975 she took part in a postgraduate course at the Mathematical Institute of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and received her doctorate in 1975 under Karl Strambach with the dissertation "4-dimensional quadratic division algebras on locally compact, unrelated bodies". From 1975 to 1978 she was a scientific assistant for mathematics and didactics of mathematics at the University of Paderborn and taught part-time at the St. Michael grammar school in Paderborn . From 1979 to 1983 she was a research assistant in the mathematics department of the University of Duisburg and taught part-time at the Luisenschule grammar school in Mühlheim. In 1983 she qualified as a professor in mathematics and until 1984 was a teacher for employment at the Ruhrtal-Gymnasium in Schwerte .

Afterwards she was professor for didactics of mathematics at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg until 1991 and taught part-time at the Emmy-Noether-Gymnasium in Erlangen . After that she was university professor for didactics of mathematics at the University of Augsburg until 2000 and from 2000 until her retirement she was university professor for mathematics with a focus on didactics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. From 2001 to 2006 she was the managing editor of the Journal for Mathematics Didactics.

  • 1991–1994: Member of the German subcommittee of the International Mathematical Teaching Commission (IMUK)
  • 1992–1996: Spokeswoman for the mathematics didactics department in the German Mathematicians Association (together with Elmar Cohors-Fresenborg and Hans-Günther Bigalke )
  • 1997 Member of the expert group for the creation of expertise - increasing the efficiency of mathematical and natural science teaching, written for the BLK project group - innovation in education - on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Education, Science, Research and Technology
  • 1998–2001 member of the main lecture committee of the GDM
  • 1998–2004 member of the jury for the GDM sponsorship award
  • from 2005: Member of the Presidium of the German Mathematicians Association (DMV)
  • 1989–1994: Member of the scientific advisory committee of the Journal for Mathematics Didactics
