Takuji Ichikawa

Takuji Ichikawa ( Japanese 市 川 拓 司 Ichikawa Takuji ; born October 7, 1962 , Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese writer .

Life

Ichikawa was born in Tokyo and moved to Fuchū in childhood and then to Saitama Prefecture during middle school . There he attended the Yonokōtō school. He studied at the Dokkyo University economics . After doing various odd jobs , he began to publish science fiction works on the Internet in 1997.

The work "Separation", published on the Internet in 2002, was filmed as a television series with the title 14 Months ( 14 ヶ 月 ~ 妻 が 子 供 に 還 っ て い く ~ 14ka getsu tsuma ga kodomo ni kaette iku ) in 2003 .

His publications Ima ai ni yukimasu ( いま,会いにゆきます Be with You ) (2003), Ren'ai shashin Mo hitotsu no monogatai ( 恋愛寫眞もうひとつの物語 Love's Photographs ) (2003) and Sono Toki wa Kare ni Yoroshiku ( Say Hello to Him When the Time Comes ) (2004) became bestsellers.

The 2004 film Be with You was a box-office hit and helped make Ichikawa famous. A South Korean remake of the 2018 film was a hit in South Korea.

In 2013 he was awarded the Ayukawa Tetsuya Prize. In 2019 Ichikawa joined the group of award-winning Japanese authors, Red Circle Authors .
