Tal (also Tal-Gemeinde or Thal ) was a municipality in the Eilenburg district and from 1815 in the Delitzsch district . The place was not as an official village schriftsässig and was one of the eight suburbs of Eilenburg . It was located at the foot of Eilenburg Castle, northwest of the core city area of Eilenburg . The village was in the Schloßaue in the area of today's Degenkolbstraße and grew at the beginning of the 19th century southwards along today's Mühlstraße.

history

The parish was first mentioned in 1394 as being in the valley . She was parish after the Marienkirche . In 1601 a rifle shot ignited a large fire that killed eight houses on the mountain and in the valley community. That year, the textile manufacturer Johann Jacob Bodemer set up a calico factory in the community. This first large company settlement marks the entry of the city of Eilenburg into the industrial age. On April 9, 1856, the industrial suburb was incorporated into Eilenburg. Some buildings from the early days of industrialization, such as the sales room and the factory owner's headquarters, have been preserved, but are left to decay. In the course of Mühlstrasse there are examples of industrial architecture from the turn of the century.

In 1551 twelve possessed men and five residents lived in the village; in 1747 there were 14 gardeners with 1 1/6 hooves.
