The Exterheide viaduct is a structure on Autobahn 1 and is located in the Teutoburg Forest in North Rhine-Westphalia . The prestressed concrete beam bridge is 430 m long and crosses the Exterheider Valley near the town of Tecklenburg . It is the longest bridge in the section of the Hansalinie between Bremen-Ost and Kamen. It was opened to traffic on November 14, 1968. The building in need of renovation will be replaced by a new building for the six-lane expansion of federal motorway 1.
