The Talensi-Nabdam District was a district in the Upper East Region in Ghana . He was detached in August 2004 from the then district assembly Bolgatanga District Assembly. In 2016 the district was divided into the two districts of Talensi and Nabdam .
Ethnic structure of the population
There are no reliable figures on the ethnic structure of the district. Like the neighboring districts, the residents of the district are likely to belong predominantly to different Gur- speaking peoples of northern Afghanistan. It is named after the Talensi people .
Climate and vegetation
The climate is tropical with a wet season from May to October and a long dry season with practically no rainfall from October to April. Temperatures range between a maximum of 45 ° in March / April and a minimum of 12 ° in December.
The district's natural vegetation consists of tree savannah , with baobab , shea nut and acacia trees . The lower vegetation is burned by fire during the dry season or dried out by the sun.
