Talotpot

Talotpot , also talot pot ( Thai ตะ ห ลด ป ด ), is a double-skinned tubular drum that is played in Thailand .

The talotpot is about one meter long, has a slightly bulbous wooden body and two drum surfaces made of cowhide, which are stretched by straps made of the same material. It is used in ensembles for temple ceremonies, as a dance accompaniment in Buddhist processions and as an announcement of upcoming festivities such as Yi Peng and Songkran .
