The Kadaň dam ( Vodní nádrž Kadaňský stupeň ) is a process water dam in the Czech Republic.
It is 289 m above sea level. M. below the Franciscan monastery of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in Kadaň and dams the Eger . The Úhošť (593 m) rises to the south .
The plant was built between 1966 and 1971 and went into operation in 1972. It serves to secure the water supply for the power plants Tušimice I and II, Prunéřov I and II as well as other commercial customers in the foothills of the Ore Mountains. The reservoir has a water surface of 67.2 ha and holds 2.75 million m³ of water. The dam is a 14.15 m high concrete structure and has a 104.3 m long and 4.9 m wide dam crest. A small power plant with a Kaplan tube turbine is operated in the dam , which has a maximum output of 2.34 MW.
