Tamana is a village in the Kingdom of Alo , which belongs to France as part of the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna .

location

The village extends on the east coast of the island of Futuna between Poi and Tuatafa . From here a path leads through the unpopulated and hilly inland of Futuna to the capital Alos Mala'e. There is also a small church building in the village, the Chapelle de Tamana .

population

While in 2003 there were still 226 inhabitants and in 2008 184 inhabitants lived in Tamana, today there are only 183 inhabitants as of 2013. Thus, in Tamana, as in the rest of Wallis and Futuna, the population is decreasing . Much of the younger population emigrates to New Caledonia .
