The Tammerkoski - rapids are almost a kilometer long link between the two lakes in the Finnish city of Tampere , ie between Lake Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi . The difference in level of 18 meters between the two lakes is used as an energy source. Factories have been located there since the end of the 18th century. Tammerkoski, whose quarter is also known as the Finnish Manchester , is one of the national landscapes of Finland .
