Tanel Kiik (born January 23, 1989 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian politician . Since April 29, 2019 he has been Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia in the Ratas II cabinet .

Life and politics

From 2007 to 2009 Tanel Kiik was employed as a consultant at the Estonian Center Party (Eesti Keskerakond) . He then worked for various real estate companies until 2016. At the same time, he was an advisor to the Vice-President of the Estonian Parliament ( Riigikogu ) , Jüri Ratas, from 2012 to 2016 .

In 2016, Kiik completed his studies in entrepreneurship and project management at Pärnu kolledž of the University of Tartu .

From 2016 to 2019 Tanel Kiik was the office manager of Prime Minister Jüri Ratas in the Estonian State Chancellery . On April 29, 2019, he was sworn in as Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Estonia in the second cabinet of Jüri Ratas.

Private

Tanel Kiik is married and has one son. He has been a member of the Estonian abstinence movement since 2007 .
