Thong (clothing)

Thong briefs for women

The tanga ( Portuguese from the Tupi-Guarani language , tanga for “ loincloth ”) is a lower part of a bikini of Brazilian origin that is reduced to ribbons and two normally equally large fabric triangles .

The term tanga, actually tanga slip, has also become common in German usage for panties that are worn as underwear . It has only a thinly cut waistband or ribbons around the waist and covers around 50% of the buttocks and the genitals completely.

Scarcer than the thong is the string that the buttocks only minimally or not at all covered. Normal briefs have more fabric .
