The memorial stone
In the 1960s, the cantor Susanne Wagner, daughter of the local historian FB Störzner, who once worked in Arnsdorf, had a memorial stone erected with the following original text:
It should be the stone for a long time
tell of war and heartache.
What was ours in pride and happiness
Oh, it never returns.
Home mountain, home valley,
he greets dying for the last time
and lies deep in France's soil.
Because his final resting place
in his mother's heart.
Götz-Eberhard Wagner
Building 6.11. 1926, missing 12.1. 1945
The stone was intended to commemorate Susanne Wagner's son who was missing in the war.
