from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tantra Sangha (Russian: Тантра сангха / Tantra sangcha) is a tantric religious association. It was founded in 1991 by the tantric monk of Russian origin, Shripada Sadashivacharya (Sergei Lobanow), who had received his ordinations in India . The followers of this Sangha practice Russian adaptations of classical Tantrism in the form of Shaivism - Shaktism and elements from Slavic paganism . They are represented in all major cities in Russia and the CIS countries.

The first registered Tantra Sangha branch is in Moscow , the second in Nizhny Novgorod was officially recognized on December 7, 1993. The followers perform Vedic fire ceremonies (cf. Yajna ) in the open air near rivers and in forests according to the orthodox Vedic Hindu rites, adapted to the Russian situation.

The community was later disbanded.
