Taoufik Belbouli

Taoufik Belbouli (* 10. December 1954 in Bennane , Tunisia ) is a former Tunisian professional boxer and world champion of the association WBA in the cruiserweight division .

Professional career

He won his first 13 fights and got his first loss in his 14th fight by Yawe Davis over eight rounds on points. On March 25, 1989, he captured the vacant WBA world championship belt when he beat the American Michael Greer in the 8th round by a technical knockout .

His last fight took place the following year in Madrid against Robert Daniels and ended in a draw. Through this draw, Belbouli kept the belt and resigned as the reigning world champion.
