Robert Daniels

Robert Daniels (* thirtieth August 1968 in Miami , Florida , USA ) is a former American professional boxer and world champion of the WBA in the cruiserweight division .

Professional career

Daniels suffered his first defeat in his third professional fight. In 1988 he beat Michael Johnson among others and won the USA Florida State Title . With a split point decision, he captured the vacant WBA world championship belt against Dwight Qawi the following year and then defended it against Craig Bodzianowski by unanimous decision and against Taoufik Belbouli with a draw.

Bobby Czyz took his belt from him in 1991 by beating him by a split point decision (112: 119, 114: 116, 161: 114). Furthermore, in 1998 he won the completely insignificant world champion belt of the IBO association with a knockout victory in round 7 over the unbeaten Don Diego Poeder . In 2001 he also won the insignificant world championship title of the WBF and in 2003 that of the IBA .
