Taquaras

Taquaras is a district of Rancho Queimado in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina . It is located on a road built between 1896 and 1904 that connects the city of Lages with the coast of the state (including Florianópolis ).

In Taquaras, the strawberry festival ( Festa do Morango ) is celebrated every year , similar to the harvest festival . Agriculture is very important there. In the district there is also the country house of Hercílio Luz , the former governor of the state, which is now a museum.

  • On March 1, 1967, resolution N ° 27/67 was passed, which provided for the establishment of the Taquaras district. On May 10th of the same year, the legislature of Santa Catarina gave its approval. Two days later the founding was officially announced in Law N ° 1060.
