Lages (originally Lajes, officially Portuguese Município de Lages ) is a city in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina . In 2010 it had about 157,000 inhabitants.
The place was founded on November 22, 1776. In 1860 he received city status. In 1960 the name of the town, which had previously been called Lajes, was changed to Lages .
The city has an airport called Aeroporto Antônio Correia Pinto Macedo ( IATA code : LAY).
