The Tariku is a river in New Guinea in the Indonesian province of Papua . In the Dutch colonial times it was named Rouffaer River .
The Tariku with its tributaries drains the western part of the Mamberamo basin. It rises in the west of the Papua province and flows eastwards until it joins the Taritatu to form Mamberamo .
