Tatsuhiko Kubo ( Japanese 久保 竜 彦 Kubo Tatsuhiko ; born June 18, 1976 in Chukuzen , Fukuoka ) is a Japanese former football player .

Kubo started his professional career at Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The striker has played for the Yokohama Marinos since 2003 until he moved to Yokohama FC in 2007 . Since 2008 he has been back at Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In 2003 and 2004 he won the Japanese championship with Yokohama.

Tatsuhiko Kubo has played 32 international matches for the Japanese national football team since 1998 , in which he scored eleven goals. At the Confederations Cup 2001 he finished 2nd with the team after the team had lost to France in the final.

When he was nominated for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Kubo surprisingly had to give up his seat to Seiichirō Maki from JEF United Ichihara Chiba . Zico justified his decision with the argument that Kubo did not look physically in top form after his prolonged injury.
