Pigeon spikes

Pigeon spikes, in the economical form only effective with low pigeon density

Pigeon spikes (from English spike for point, more generally also called bird defense points or pigeon defense strips ) are long metal spikes attached to strips, which are mainly attached to building facades, bridges and other structures to prevent pigeons from landing and nesting there . The deterrent is used to repel pigeons .

The tips are usually attached in a V-shape on a plastic or stainless steel base and z. B. attached with silicone adhesive . In specialist circles (in addition to the professional attachment of nets and grids), they are considered to be the most effective form of pigeon defense to date and, in contrast to many competing products, as animal-friendly, since the pigeons are not killed by the defense system when properly attached and, as a rule, are not injured, which is why organizations like the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds recommend pigeon spikes.
